VicRoads response to our exclusive post regarding new painted lines at Holmesglen has finally come thru.
As posted several days ago, a new style of markings have been added around this high revenue making area.
The information was first relayed to the #RumourFile on @RossandJohn’s morning show on @3aw693.
A day later VicRoads has responded with the following;
The 40 km/h zone on Warrigal Road near Batesford Road was first implemented in 2010 due to the extensive history of pedestrian crashes at the site.
The new line marking is to help distinguish the area as being a different speed to the surrounding area to help with compliance of the 40km/hr speed limit.

This road site has still major issues and the concern for safety seems to be lesser than that of real awareness.
The massive gaps in the fences still exist, 3 years after recommendations were made to fix this
Also the primary camera seems to be still out of action with graffiti and vandalism.
